Teen driver’s education is required for all teens ages 14–17 who want to apply for a learner’s permit or driver’s license.
Begin with the required classroom instruction. On Day 3, you’ll take the official DPS knowledge exam. Once you pass, you’ll receive your certificate of completion, which is required to get your learner’s permit
Once you have your certificate, head to the DPS office to get your driving permit!
Students complete 7 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed instructor, plus 32 hours of supervised driving practice with their parents.
Students will complete the free online Impact Texas Teen Driver (ITTD) course
Students can take their driving test either at the DPS office or with us—we are an authorized DPS road test provider.
